A divorce or separation asks you to take a life you built with another person and let it come apart. Sometimes fairly, sometimes not, almost always slower than anyone wants.
People get stuck at different points in it. Some can’t decide whether to go and can’t see past the wall of everything that could go wrong if they do. Some have decided they need to move on and now face so many questions at once that nothing gets started. And some are years past the paperwork, still circling the same resentment, the same what-ifs, the same conversation that never happened.
